This is really cool stuff. When people think of the repurcussions of oil cost and limited output, we immediately think of gasoline and not about the many many many other oil products or oil based products. For example, plastic. Without oil, we have no plastic. Without plastic, well, just take a look around to see how much of the stuff we use. Then think about hospitals.
Biota is a bottled water company but their bottles, instead of being oil based, are corn based. In addition to reducing a dependence on oil, these bottles can decompose in about 80 days. I really like seeing technology put to new and interesting uses, and this is pretty good. Hopefully bottling companies follow suit with this.
